My best tip is to keep reading part of the daily routine - we always read before bed and we will continue to do so all summer. The other idea I have for this summer is to do activities together that go along with a theme from one of our books (ie., we're going to make a coconut tree to act out "Chicka Chicka boom boom". My son is 3.

We try to schedule reading time each day. It doesn't always work, but it helps keep us in the routine.

My child is 12 (7th grade).

Show your love for reading as a parent. It will make your child excited to read. You can be a role model in so many ways.
