How to make homemade rolled biscuits.

Making homemade biscuits are easier to make than you might think...especially when you already have the basic baking mix. From start to finish, you could be eating warm homemade biscuits in less than 30 minutes!

For variety you could add toppings to the biscuits. I will list some of them at the end of the recipe. If you by chance don't have milk, you can use water in the recipe instead...they just won't taste as yummy.

Homemade Rolled Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine mix and milk and beat until smooth. {If dough feels too sticky, add more mix. BUT ONLY up to 1/4 cup.}
  3. Turn dough out on a dusted surface {either with baking mix or flour}, roll dough into a ball to coat, then knead gently about ten times.
  4. Roll dough into 1/2 in thick snake. {Kids love helping with this part!}
  5. Cut about every 2 inches. {You should end up with about 10-12 biscuits.}
  6. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and brush tops with milk to brown.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Voila! Yummy homemade biscuits. Now for yummy varieties. Just before baking...

  1. Melt 2 Tbsp butter.
  2. Brush tops with butter.
  3. Sprinkle with Cinnamon and Sugar.
  4. Bake.
OR

  1. Brush tops with milk.
  2. Sprinkle poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or any seed you like.
  3. Bake.

MMmmm.
